A Bit of Background

How We Decided To Breed

We are Ryan & Rachel (R & R), along with our children who are currently 7, 10, & 12 years old. We purchased our first miniature Australian Shepherd, Chief, in the Spring of 2010 before we had children. Originally we did not plan to breed dogs, we just wanted a wonderful pet for our family. But after falling in love with the breed, we decided in the Fall of 2019 to get a standard size female to breed, and we welcomed Callie to our home.

After tons of research and acquiring a lot of information about the breeding process, we decided to breed Aussiedoodles. The upside to breeding a "doodle" dog, is that their tendency to shed their fur goes down by quite a bit. Australian Shepherds have full, double coats that they "blow out" or shed heavily once or twice a year but also shed fairly regularly as well. Poodles have hair instead of fur, so they do not shed their coat to get new hair growth, their coat acts more like human hair where it continually grows and they lose it sparsely so they need "haircuts" or groomed, instead. Aussiedoodles' coats can vary from slightly wavy to curly, and they can be numerous colors.

Aussiedoodles are super smart, by crossing two of the smartest dog breeds, they're sometimes called "Einstein" dogs. Because they are smart, they are easy to train and in conjuction with their loyalty to their owners, they make great therapy dogs! Aussidoodles are also great family dogs and are the perfect companion for walks, snuggles, or fetch!
